Wynne Jones = WIN

I’m currently reading, and very much enjoying, The Magicians of Caprona by Diana Wynne Jones. I’ve also checked out Howl’s Moving Castle, which has been snatched up by my darling wife.

The Magicians of Caprona is about two warring spell-houses in the fictional Italian City State of Caprona. The story mostly follows the younger siblings of the Montana house as they feud, Shakespear-style, with the Petrocchi family. It’s like the Capulets and the Montagues with wizard-powers and a heavy dose of political intrigue thrown in.

Below is an unrelated watercolored sketch from around the house:

Diana Wynne Jones' "Dalemark Quartet" is one of my favorite series of books. The first book is decent, but the second, third, and fourth are amazing.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'm reading Howl's Moving Castle now and it's quite different from the movie and very good. It's interesting to compare the two.

I really like this drawing! I would like to start sketching my family. For some reason I just dont. but it's such good practice and would make for nice memories when they are big.

You should! Your little one is so cute -from what I see on your blog. You have to be fast, though.
