De Colores

Coloring like the house is on fire.

This might be the first non-conceptual image from Zita 2...

Edit: Wait, is the expression "coloring like the house is on fire" or is is "Coloring like a house on fire"? They both seem to conjure up some pretty potent, albeit slightly different, imagery. I like them equally.

I always thought it was "like a house afire". But I agree on the imagery.

Wonderful, just like the colours in the first Zita.

Ben, that's looking great! Based on this panel, the blending looks softer than in the first book. I'm really looking forward to seeing more!

Did Zita get a hair-cut?

Her hair does look a little short in this one but in most panels she actually looks a bit shaggier than last time. Life on the road, you know.

Generally I'd say the art in this book is a little bit cleaner and more "animated" looking. The colors are a little brighter too. I have a feeling that most people will like the art in this book a little better. And while I miss the very loose linework and somewhat desaturated colors from the first book, some of the pages in this book have turned out to be some of the best comics art I've done.

Say "like a house on fire". Rules of grammar don't apply to figures of speech. Neither do any other rules, actually...

No rules? That's like music to my ears. Especially where grammar is involved.

You, sir, are a teaser! A teaser, says I!

I have been teased, and am now tempted and further tormented by the image you've posted!

How long must I wait?

Hopefully Amulet 4 will fill the emptiness that exists between Zitas...

Also, I think using the word "afire" would be cooler than the phrase "on fire"
