You can see the original this week!
I am mesmerized. You are a very gifted artist.
Hey Wow!! wish I could see the original... do you use a drier of any kind. I've been using it instead of linseed oil or mineral spirits to paint washes. I'm just concerned how much it effects the paint long term - yellowing and that sort of thing
Hi Anthony! Thanks for the comment! I wish I could post a photo that is closer to the original. As you can probably see in the one here there's a lot of glare and reflected light.Anyway, I don't use any kind of dryer, but the medium I mix is supposed to act as a kind of varnish. I might go ahead and use Damar Varnish on this one in a few months.
Hi, Ben! I watched "The Maiden Heist" this week per your recommendation. It was really good! I was cracking up (no pun intended).Loved the part when Morgan Freeman's character tried to replicate Roger's painting and Roger hated it - that was a great scene.I don't think I'd ever have found it otherwise, so, thanks!
Yeah his version of the Lonely Maiden was hilarious! I'm glad you liked it, Jill.
This is so wonderfully restrained, the skintone and white shirt just glow! Amazing Ben!
Great work! How wonderful to be able to do something like that!Elizabeth Butina
Thanks Sally and Elizabeth. Henry called today and said they are starting a Madonna and Child with the same girl. I had to opt out.So sad.
