Sunshine and Sketchbooks

Yesterday was one of those clear and beautiful August days when it’s still resolutely summer (no hint of Fall -not yet) but the heat has abated enough that it’s a joy to be outside.

And absolute torture to be stuck inside.

So I packed my bag and I packed my lunch and I spent a couple hours sketching down by the Shenandoah River where there are tumbledown houses and abandoned cars...

(I found this old, semi-overgrown jeep, who obviously looked like a friend of the Little Robot).

(We've been watching this old house succumb to nature for awhile now).

(I ended up at the coffee shop, of course, which is a great place to surreptitiously (and quickly) sketch people while they check their phones...)
