Give 'em the Bird!

Watching the birds eat from the shelf outside our window has been one of the most enjoyable new mealtime activities of the year. We've had all kinds of guests -from the humble sparrow, pictured above, to nuthatches, titmouses (or is it titmice?), red-bellied woodpeckers, cardinals, bluejays and more.

A week or so ago I took a special picture for my friend, and fellow illustrator Ted Schluenderfritz. Ted's online portfolio is at 5 (go look at his art!) and here are 5 sparrows all crowded around our window:

Ben --
You would love the kids new bird friend "Stayee" She has built a nest in the little honeysuckle at mama's. She is sitting on her eggs and the kids quietly watch her. We can't wait for the eggs to hatch!

By the way, her name is "Stayee" because she just stays in her nest. Christopher named her.

Christopher is a MASTER at sensible names. His name could be "Watchee"
